All Major roads to Botswana have been tarred and are in excellent
conditions. There are many vetenary check points in order to control
the food and mouth diseases in Botswana. All main roads are tarred,
but as soon as you want to leave the main roads one needs a 4
x 4 vehicle.
Not recommended to drive after sunset and before sunrise due to
the amount of wild animals and domestic animals on the roads.
It is recommended to drive within day time only. There are regular
busses and mini taxis between all major towns and is safe to use.
Weekly trains are running week from j/burg to Mafikeng
and then a connecting train to gaberone. Daily schedules between
gaberone and Francis town. |
