Botswana Country Information:

Botswana is a landlocked country situated in the middle of southern Africa and its neighbouring countries are : Namibia, South Africa, Zambia , Zimbabwe. This is truly a centrally located country with a local currency that is Pula and means ‘ rain’ the small coins are referred to as Thebe and this means ‘ shield’. The small population of nearly 2 million people makes this one of the least densely populated countries in Africa and especially Southern Africa. The larger part of the population is situated on the east and the south of Botswana.

Botswana consists of 70 % Kalahari Basin and the large inland Delta namely the Okavango Delta has a significant influence on the weather patterns and seasons in Botswana. Not recommend to drive before and after sunset , due to the donkeys and wild animals on the roads – dangerous driving in the dark on Botswana roads. It is not recommended to drive your journeys at night time.
