| General Information |
Baines Camp is set amongst the shady trees and water of the Okavango Delta, small and intimate Baines' Camp features just five luxurious suites set on elevated platforms in the tree line. Wooden decks offer expansive views over the permanent water of the Boro River and a lagoon teeming with life. The elevated suites feature a spacious bedroom, with softly draped fabrics adding the romantic touch of a bygone era. The four-poster beds are fully mobile, giving guests the choice of slumber under star laden skies. Avid astronomers will delight in stargazing from the privacy of their own deck.
Highlights & Activities
Baines Camp and its sister camp Stanley's Camp is the only camp in the Okavango where you can go hot air ballooning! An opportunity to photograph the Delta from low level is very unique. The activity is an extra activity which we recommend booking beforehand. You are treated to early morning tea and coffee while you watch the Balloon being inflated. The balloon takes a maximum of 8 passengers and 2 crew. The pilots fly between 500 ft and 1500ft and fly in a northwesterly direction for about 1 hour. Landings can be a bit bumpy . To celebrate a successful flight a light champagne breakfast is served before you are driven back to Baines Camp. |

There is no electricity at the camp and all the lights and hot water is powered by solar batteries
Video camera batteries can be charged and for this please bring a 220v adaptor for a three-pronged round plug. |

Baines Camp is situated on a private concession neighboring the Moremi.
Baines Camp is accessible by small aircraft, the lodge has its own airstrip. Rhino Africa can organize charter flights on your behalf. Flights can be arranged from other lodges or from Maun and Kasane Airports. The major gateways in this area are Victoria Falls Airport, Livingstone Airport and Maun. |
