| CAMP KALAHARI |
 |
| |
| General Information |
Camp Kalahari is the best way to experience the Makgadikgadi in a fresh and affordable way. It is the ideal camp for those who want fun, comfort, style and adventure.
A cluster of five khaki dome tents perches on the rim of the ancient super lake; replete with old style military stretcher beds, toasty bedrolls, crunchy cotton sheets, stripy African blankets and hot water bottles in winter. Steaming bucket showers are on offer to sluice off the Kalahari dust. |

| Highlights & Activities |
Rain transforms this landscape. Water gathers on the salt pan. Algae bloom, crustaceans breed. Clouds of flamingo descend to feed on them. Herds of zebra and wildebeest materialise, drawn by the lush grass, and for several months, the desert is teeming with game and predators. But, when the waters dry up, the birds and animals migrate and the extraordinary ecosystem of the Makgadikgadi becomes the main attraction.
The best adventure of all is to travel across the pans on a quad bike, fat-wheeled two-man lawnmower things. |
