The ostentatious main buildings of Xakanaxa Camp expand into the Khwai River, and are hoisted up on platforms that enhance the views of the encompassing lagoons and islands. The buildings are made up of regional timber, reed and thatch. They have a majestic lounge, with a discursive library, dining room and a  sweeping sundeck. The outdoors boast a sparkling plunge pool and a fire-deck beneath Jackalberry trees. The curio shop can be located within the reception lounge. Provision is made for charging of guests’ videos, cameras and batteries. Generator power is used to keep the camp up and running. At nighttime, however, gas and paraffin lanterns are used to provide light. This gives Xakanaxa Camp a bona fide African spirit.

Highlights & Activities

A prime game-viewing location in Africa, the Moremi Reserve is a harborage for the hordes of elephant, sable, giraffe, tsessebe, lechwe, wildebeest, impala and waterbuck. Cheetah, hyena, leopard, lion and wild dog round off the group splendidly.
Xakanaxa Camp is posted on the Xakanaxa Lagoon, therefore being one of the most wondrous areas within Botswana.
