Camp Okavango

Camp Okavango in Botswana is located on the secluded Nxaragha Island, right in the centre of the Okavango Delta. This allows year-round water wilderness involvement. Audacious affluence fuses with the crux of rustic Africa within the modish thatch and lethaka main building. This building is composed of a cocktail bar, lounge and dining room, and the voluminous open air patio provides for al fresco meals and evenings encircling a crackling fire.

Shadowed hammocks, reading benches, a heavenly sun deck and plunge pool offer some well-needed easement during the scorching midday hours. The raised observation platform caters for beauteous views of the serene floodplains.

Highlights & Activities

16000 square km are encircled by the Okavango Delta. There are pristine channels, stoical lagoons and a collection of islands to be seen. The exclusive wetland system lies on top of the sands of the boundless Kalahari Desert. The powerful Okavango River, which flows southeast from the Angolan highlands, gives the wetland its fortitude. The water wilderness of the Okavango Delta grants the incalculable bird and wildlife species a safe haven. The transient Sitatunga Antelope has a fortress in this purified wetland ecosystem. The African Fish Eagle, Pel’s Fishing Owl and many other birds are breathtaking in their astounding appearance.

Your arrival at Camp Okavango will be arranged for you by co-ordinating a transfer by means of light aircraft charter. These air transfers operate from either Maun, Kasane (to which you will be transfered to by road, if travelling from Livingstone or Victoria Falls) or any of the other camps or lodges in Botswana. If you are staying in nearby lodges we highly recommend doing a boat transfer as this allows you to experience the Okavango Delta in its own right.
