Tour Description
Day 1: Maun (D*) Lodge
After your welcome at 14h00, our guides will brief you and prepare you for the first activity of the day the Okavango delta scenic flight. This is an optional activity that takes you over the waterways of the Okavango delta and the perfect way to explore the Okavango, its lifeline to the Kalahari Basin. The afternoon is spent at leisure and to make final arrangements for our next leg of the safari.
Day 2, 3: Tsodilo Hills / Okavango River (B.L.D) Lodge
Our early departure will lead us to the Tsodilo Hills. We will explore the history of the San people that will guide us to the sacred and holy mountains of the gods at Tsodilio hills. The afternoon will be spent exploring the world heritage site of the bushman and its beliefs. The signs of time are evident in the large variety of paintings that can be found within these granite mountain tops. Our Visit to the Hills will include a visit to a traditional San Village. We will depart the Sacred Hills the next morning to find ourselves on the banks of the Okavango River and its meandering lifeline to the Kalahari basin. Our afternoon is spent on a boat on the Okavango River and its many hidden Channels.
Day 4, 5: Okavango, Mahango Game reserve (B.L.D) Lodge
We continue to explore the meandering Okavango and find ourselves next to the Okavango for the following 2 days. Ngepi allows for a relaxing experience of the local cultures and living of traditional people of the Caprivi in Namibia. A visit to the nearby game reserve will take us on a picnic lunch and an excellent river game drive.
Day 6: Kwando (B.L.D) Lodge
Our journey takes us through an old German colony in the Caprivi game reserve, where many a battle was fought during the Angolan war. The Kwando and its friendly people will lead the way to Katima Mullilo, the place of fire, with its exciting African markets and traditional vibe. A truly beautiful drive through where we learn about the traditions, history, culture, craftsmanship and wilderness of the African Caprivi.
Day 7,8: Kasane / Chobe National Park (B) Lodge
Our safari tour is coming to a grand finale when we head off to the magic of Kasane and Chobe National Park. We will be staying in kasane and from here explore the Chobe River.
